November 9, 2017 Breakfast Meeting – Annika Polegato, Alouette Addictions
November 9 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am$20
Annika Polegato is the Director at Alouette Addictions. She has worked in the not for profit sector for almost 20 years including the Kidney Foundation and the Hospital Foundation. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive and is incredibly proud to have maintained and mentored others to achieve their CFRE. In 2013, she joined Alouette Addictions, and in 2014 they were awarded non-profit of the year by the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce.
In recent years the Opioid Overdose Crisis has claimed the lives of hundreds of British Columbians. To work in this field, at this time, was a challenge Annika was ill prepared for, but, as she listened to individual stories of trauma, abuse and survival, she learned what it means to truly be strong and compassionate.
Mental Health and Addictions are not “other people’s problems” – they affect all of us. People are dying and families are being torn apart. We all have a role to play. At this meeting, Annika will address the current opioid overdose crisis, the services available and how to access them. Annika will talk about resilience and compassion, community challenges and opportunities. Most importantly, she is there to answer your questions.
